What is ISA-95 (IEC 62264)?
ISA-95, formally IEC 62264, is the international standard for integration of enterprise and control systems, defining the five-level Purdue Model hierarchy and the information models governing communication between ERP, MES and production control systems.
Technical Definition: The international standard for integration of enterprise and control systems. ISA-95 defines the five-level hierarchy (Purdue Model) and information models for communication between ERP (Level 4), MES/MOM (Level 3) and control systems (Levels 0-2).
Why it matters: ISA-95 defines the interface between IT and OT. Without it, connecting an ERP system to a production control system requires a completely custom integration for every single installation.
HubMind’s view: We use ISA-95 as the framework for defining integration requirements in industrial projects – ensuring information exchange between business systems and control systems is structured, documented and maintainable.
