What is Building Controls?

Building Controls (Styr och Övervakning) is the discipline of technically regulating and measuring physical processes – control means actively influencing a process, while monitoring means continuously observing it.

Technical Definition: The discipline of technically regulating and measuring physical processes. Control refers to actively influencing a process (e.g. regulating temperature or pressure), while monitoring means passively observing a process. In practice, both functions are tightly integrated in modern BAS and SCADA systems.

Why it matters: Effective control and monitoring is the operational foundation of any smart building or industrial facility. Without proper instrumentation and control logic, optimisation, predictive maintenance and digital twins are all impossible.

HubMind’s view: We design control and monitoring architectures that deliver reliable, well-structured data – not just functional control. The quality of the underlying sensor signals determines the quality of everything built on top of them.
