What is KPI?
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are measurable values used to evaluate how successfully a system or organisation achieves its key objectives – in facility management, measuring energy use, uptime, maintenance cost and indoor climate quality.
Key Performance Indicator
Technical Definition: A measurable value used to evaluate how successfully an organisation or system achieves key objectives. In facility management, KPIs measure energy consumption, uptime, maintenance cost, indoor climate quality and other operational parameters.
Why it matters: Without measurable KPIs it is impossible to objectively evaluate whether an optimisation measure has actually had the desired effect. KPIs also enable management to prioritise investments based on demonstrated impact rather than intuition.
HubMind’s view: We help define KPIs that are both measurable and meaningful – directly connected to the data available from your systems, not aspirational metrics that cannot actually be monitored.
